PARTNERING IN BUSINESS WITH GERMANY
An instrument of the foreign trade promotion programme by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)
PARTNERING IN BUSINESS WITH GERMANY
The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH implements the programme on behalf of the BMWE. COMMIT runs several group programmes each year for managers from 18 countries, including Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America. For more than 25 years, the programme has been facilitating successful business cooperation and promoting economic exchange between Germany and the participating countries, which is increasing year on year. Over 18,500 managers have taken part in the programme to date. Around 1000 more participants join the programme every year. Over 1,800 German companies actively participate in the programme every year. Two thirds of German companies come from the SME sector.
During a six-week online phase and a three-week stay in Germany, programme participants gain insights into German corporate culture and acquire skills in two areas of competence: Business administration (management skills) in German business practice and foreign trade (cooperation skills) in relation to cooperation with German companies. Participants visit German companies on site and have the opportunity to establish direct contacts. After their stay in Germany, many programme participants maintain contacts via alumni networks and at the same time serve as contacts for German companies abroad. The programme is therefore an excellent opportunity for both German and foreign companies, with both sides benefiting from the transfer of skills and business contacts.
